{"id":111,"date":"2014-06-08T19:47:23","date_gmt":"2014-06-08T23:47:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ejameswhite.com\/?p=111"},"modified":"2014-07-12T17:27:50","modified_gmt":"2014-07-12T21:27:50","slug":"trouble-in-paradise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ejameswhite.com\/?p=111","title":{"rendered":"Trouble in Paradise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Just as I was thinking Altra&#8217;s and Newtons are the best shoes ever and my knee issues seem to be diminishing,&nbsp; a new problem surfaces.<\/p>\n<p>The weekend after my trail 5K,&nbsp; I ran 7 miles in the Newtons.&nbsp; It was really even a jump in miles, but my left arch bothered me on this run.&nbsp; I missed next two weeks running for other reasons,&nbsp; and I resumed on May 25th when I ran 6 miles. This run was ok, but as soon as I stopped,&nbsp; I had lots of pain in my left foot.&nbsp; It was painful to walk. This seemed to come out of nowhere.&nbsp; I did not even hurt while running. <\/p>\n<p>I took a couple days off and then ran a couple 3 milers that week, both still with the ankle pain.&nbsp; On June 1, I ran 7.5 miles.&nbsp; My ankle hurt right from the beginning,&nbsp; then slowly went away or was drastically less painful. But once I stopped,&nbsp; the pain came back, just like the other runs.<\/p>\n<p>Since then I ran 3 miles in my Nikes, my old shoes, with similar results.&nbsp; I have taken 4 days off, iced, and taken Advil. I can tell it would still hurt to run on. <\/p>\n<p>If you have had a similar injury as this,&nbsp; please comment about it below.
