{"id":89,"date":"2014-04-14T08:29:08","date_gmt":"2014-04-14T12:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ejameswhite.com\/?p=89"},"modified":"2014-04-14T08:29:21","modified_gmt":"2014-04-14T12:29:21","slug":"not-quite-ready-for-hills","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ejameswhite.com\/?p=89","title":{"rendered":"Not Quite Ready For Hills"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This past Sunday I decided to run my normal route at home, which is loaded with hills. \u00a0While going uphill does not seem \u00a0to bother my knee, continued running downhill might. \u00a0I experienced very mild but noticeable pain in my knee for the last mile or so. That is a bit concerning, because that is what my knee felt like at first when my injury happened.<\/p>\n<p>I did 4 miles. \u00a0But I did it with a little pain, so while I am happy I ran 4 miles, I am not sure I am ready to go 5 miles in a week. \u00a0This week I will lay off hills. I might not run until Wednesday and just see how things are. \u00a0In the meantime, I will ice it and do the exercises I had been doing but slacked off on lately.<\/p>\n<p>May has some big potential milestones &#8211; 1) A 5K trail run and 2) A 10K. \u00a0I think I am going to have to run these not thinking about my finishing times, but rather completing them without pain. \u00a0And that is not easy to do! \u00a0Hopefully, my next few runs will be without that mild pain too.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past Sunday I decided to run my normal route at home, which is loaded with hills. \u00a0While going uphill does not seem \u00a0to bother my knee, continued running downhill might. \u00a0I experienced very mild but noticeable pain in my knee for the last mile or so.
