Podcasts I’m listening to in 2023

Podcast listening is a big part of my week, and on some days, it can be for hours. I listen a lot on commutes.

My core list of podcasts changes occasionally, so here’s the list of the ones currently. I don’t listen to every episode of every podcast. The podcasts listed first are the ones I mostly listen to.

The Tim Ferriss Show

I’ve listened to Tim for years now, and I have found that he gets interesting guests and asks great questions. I get a lot of value out of his episodes, so it remains one of the ones I listen to the most.

Lex Friedman Podcast

I just started listening to Lex after his interview with Elon Musk. Since then I’ve found he has a wide variety of guests. Lex is an interesting guy. He practices Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and plays guitar well. So this matches my own interests in martial arts and guitar. Lex also runs. I feel I relate to him well. He speaks a little monotone, but so do I. His podcasts are quite good actually, and that’s why he’s listed second here.

This Week In Startups – Jason Calacanis

This one is OG for me. I think maybe this was the very first podcast I ever heard. Over the years, I’ve probably been more educated about starting a startup and it’s challenges than any other podcast. Jason Calacanis is like my mentor without him actually knowing it. he’s more than an investor. He really want a to see founders succeed. If you’re interesting being an entrepreneur or creating a startup, this podcast is an absolute must. I can’t stress that enough.

Remarkable People – Guy Kawasaki

Guy worked early in his career at Apple with Steve Jobs in the Macintosh division. Guy has been a best selling author, investor, and many other things situated around business and startups. He is a great guest interviewer and has interesting guests.

The GaryVee Audio Experience

The first time I heard of Gary Vaynerchuk was because he was a guest on This Week in Startups, and I really thought to myself, who is this really obnoxious foul-mouthed guest? That was well before a lot of people One who Gary was. But I started finding his talks and his books, and he has had one of the biggest impacts on my startups. Gary is a work beast! After some time I found I wasn’t learning as much and he talks a lot about NFTs, which doesn’t interest me that much right now, so his podcast is a little lower on the list now, but I still listen very often to his episodes.

Joe Rogan Experience

Joe of course needs no introduction. He’s maybe the best, but I don’t listen to all of his podcasts. He does get a lot of guests that I want to hear what they have to say. Some of his guests are comedians or UFC related, so I might not care about those as much as other guests he gets.

Masters of Scale – Reid Hoffman

I find Reid’s podcasts to be educational towards how to scale a startup and lessons learned from other successful entrepreneurs. If your company/startup is at the stage where you need to start scaling, this podcast should be on your list.

The Other Noteworthy Podcasts I Sometimes Listen To:

A16Z

How I Built This – Guy Raz (some episodes require subscription)

James Altucher

So this is my current list. It does change from time to time. For example, I might find that I’m starting to listen to James Altucher more because of the topics.

I’m interested to know what are the podcasts you like? Are any of these on your list?
