Going into this 10 mile run, I was not sure what to do. My last run was with a loose knee strap made by Cho Pat, and my knee bothered me.
So this time I tightened that strap up so that it was pretty snug and off I went. The first 5 miles were great, and I thought my issue was a loose knee strap – until the knee started to hurt around mile 5.5! So I took the strap off.
I felt great the rest of the run and finished with hardly any pain at all. Later that night, my knee became pretty stiff and I pinpointed a spot below the patella that was sore. It was right where the strap was.
So apparently the strap is not needed and I have run a couple 5 milers since the 10 mile run without any issues.
