Okay, this is an effort to increase my blogs, as one of my goals was to blog more in 2020.  Last year I did a blog where I just randomly typed whatever came in my head.  I just reread it and it was pretty boring, but I forgot about the guy that lived to 112 years old that I mentioned, so that was cool.  So I decided to do another blog like the one before.   Sorry if it is boring, lol – I type whatever comes to mind…..here goes….

So a shortened baseball season this year….with fake fan noise and cheers but no fans in stadiums…ok.  Also, no olympics.  And this has to be the strangest election year too, with basically no campaigning and maybe no debates.  I guess a lot of tradition streaks have ended because of the pandemic…..for instance, no NYC Marathon (this was supposed to be the 50th event and I had entered the lottery but didn’t get in).  

My workplace, the place I hope to leave when the timing is right, has drastically altered policies.  And I could see us still wearing face masks even after pandemic is long gone.  And social distancing.  That’s my guess based on how they’ve handled other things in the past.   Oh, and I doubt the gym at my work place will ever open again…even though whenever I go, there are only 2-3 people there, max.  

We added a cat, which is the third cat in the house.  There is also an outdoor cat named “Toonses” after the driving cat, and yes, she looks like the driving cat.  The new cat is a terror! Literally EVERY morning, attacks my feet, at first was just with the paws but now with CLAWS! She’s basically an alarm clock. 

I listen to podcasts at work because it helps me get through a redundant 12 hour day, where I am bored out of my mind!  Some of the podcasts I listen to are This Week In Startups, Gary Vee,  Joe Rogan, Tim Ferriss, The Founder Podcast.  I will also listen to non-fiction audio books or listen to You Tube videos about certain topics or people. 

I cannot believe we are more than halfway through 2020, and I’m so glad we are! This year sucks.   Like many others say, this is a year worth forgetting….but none of us ever will.   Despite how rocky this year has been, I am still focused on my “side projects.”   I actually have about 30 people helping me on various projects.   Things are going well, and I am excited to see how things play out over the next few months with these projects. 

Karate classes these days are on Zoom, and I practice in my living room.   It’s definitely not the same.  Almost feels like one of those exercise videos where you follow along.  I’m ready to return to the dojo…but now the virus cases are rising again.  Some students are going to the dojo, but they don’t wear masks and it would be hard to do it anyway.  i am supposed to black belt test in October but I don’t see how that will happen.   I need another vacation, which will happen in August. 

In 15 minutes I will interview another prospective intern to work on an iOS app.  The internships I offer are unpaid, because my projects are still just projects, not companies.  But some interns have earned equity and others have received job offers elsewhere.  And all the feedback I’ve received is that the internship was an outstanding experience.  Of course some do not work out and they sort of drop off the radar or I just suddenly cut them off due to no communication. 

These projects keep me going…LivestockCity could be my lifetime contribution, the thing I will be known for…or it could belly up!  But for now it is fun and frustrating and challenging at times.
